“If you love me child, strike.” That seems like a cheap shot, but I suppose it’s probably fitting that Death doesn’t play fair or pull any punches. And I suppose he probably sincerely cares for Kayli, though apparently not enough to respect her not wanting to kill. Of course, knowing little of how their believes work and what the consequences would be if Death refused to do his/her job, this is probably a case of not properly understanding the culture. I suppose the question is, what exactly is keeping Kayli from killing him. Fear, pity, respect for life, all of the above? I wonder…
